1 video essay on “humour as conflict”
A project that challenges the stereotypes and discrimination rooted in Romanian comedy.
At its center stands “The Death and Life of Bulă”, a show that reimagines the fate of Romania’s most iconic and problematic comic figure, questioning what humour leaves behind and what it can create instead.
Around it, a series of workshops with stand-up comedians, students, teenagers and an inclusive stand-up contest, explore the fine line between laughter as a tool for connection and laughter as a weapon of exclusion.
Through stage and dialogue alike, we aimed to ask what comedy means today and how it can grow into something more inclusive, empathetic, and alive.
