The Uranus neighborhood, once a vibrant part of Bucharest, was demolished under Ceaușescu’s regime to make room for the People’s Palace in the 80s. The streets are gone, but their echoes are still heard.
The project invited the public to reconnect with this erased landscape. Through guided tours, open talks, and the outdoor performance Dogs vs. Uranus, participants explored questions of cultural heritage, collective memory, and identity in the very streets where history was torn apart.
What we found during the next couple of years is that Uranus is not only about the past. It’s about how a city carries its wounds, and how we choose to live with them.
